Preschool Screening Coming Soon!

Every parent wants to see their child thrive. If you have questions about your child’s development, South Summit School District is here to help! We are offering a warm welcome and free screenings to support our families.

This proactive outreach helps us connect three and four-year-olds who may need a helping hand through special education services beginning at age three. The decision to bring a student back for testing is made one student at a time, ensuring personalized support.

What Can You Expect?

Think of the screening as a gentle, playful checkpoint. Our caring team of educators will work directly with your child to assess their:

  • Talking and understanding (speech and language)
  • Movement and coordination (fine and gross motor skills)
  • Learning and early school skills (thinking, problem-solving)
  • Getting along with others (social-emotional skills)

We will also sit down with you to listen to your unique observations and concerns about your child.

Who Should Sign Up?

Any parent of a child:

  • Ages three or four
  • Who is not currently enrolled in the South Summit pre-k program
  • When parents are curious or have specific concerns about developmental progress
